Contact is an installation constructed in partnership by the artists Jane Eyton and Matthew Kolakowski.
As advanced physics seeks to recreate and record subatomic events and capture particles of uncertain mass defined by the principle of uncertainty, Contact envisioned an interior space dissected by an exterior intervention, defined by the spontaneous intercession of the unexpected and banal.
The imagined path traced by the strung cones ricochets around the ceilings and walls like the path of a charmed particle, appearing and disappearing leaving its captured course hanging and volatile. The conjoined cones reference the oscillations and "resonances" of its brief life from being to not being.
